So, for a lot of years, I was that ranch cowboy working for dismal wages, hopping from job to job across the U.S., from Florida to Oregon. Let me tell ya, some bosses were just one click away from blowing a gasket. Ever find yourself thinking, "Man, I could do a better job than this guy?"
Fast-forward about 10 years, and bam! I got my shot at being the big cheese. Spoiler alert: it didn't go as planned.
Several years back, we leased this awesome ranch in Wyoming. And guess what? We got creamed one summer in the cattle market, just bled money. That's when it hit me. Why not sell beef directly to folks in Colorado instead of getting squashed at livestock auctions? Ten years later, here we are with a jam-packed ranch: chickens, hogs, heifers, you name it. We even roped in some interns and a full-time crew. Everyone's swamped, and the cash flow? Well, it's tight, to say the least.
I got what I wanted: I'm running my own show. But here's the kicker: I turn around and it's like nobody gives two hoots about their job or stepping up to the plate. I'm practically biting my tongue in half to not call 'em idiots. Man, I became the grumpy, stressed-out boss I vowed never to be.

Enter my wife, Adrienne. She drops this bomb: "We're the problem, not the crew or the money." Okay, I'm paraphrasing here. She was pushing for us to join some business development programs. Being a typical guy, I thought all that stuff was just blah blah. But I finally broke the cycle.

If your job's a drag and you spend your day mentally shouting at people, heed that nagging voice in your head. There's likely this one huge problem you know you've gotta tackle. Solve it, and everything else falls into place. But it's like we're always chasing our tails, caught up in the daily grind.
For way too long, I'd wake up telling myself, "Suck it up " and I would plunge into whatever seemed most urgent. But what if you could leap outta bed, stoked to tackle things that truly matter? Sounds dreamy, huh? You owe it to yourself—and everyone around you—to check your ego, step up your game, and turn that dream into reality
